CMT took part in the conference “Hydrogeology: past, present and future” held at MGRI

From 4 to 6 March 2024, CMT took part in the first scientific and practical conference “Hydrogeology: past, present and future” organized by the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Russian State Geological Prospecting University named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze" (MGRI).
The conference included 6 sections: hydrogeodynamics, groundwater hydrogeochemistry, modelling of hydrogeological processes, regional hydrogeology, environmental hydrogeology, training and employment of specialists.
In their reports, the conference participants discussed the key issues of modern hydrogeology in Russia, including monitoring issues, regulatory framework and legal aspects of hydrogeological studies.
As part of the conference, an exhibition of hydrogeological equipment and software was held on March 5 where Roman Bondarenko (Head of Geotechnics and Hydrogeology Department at CMT Consulting) presented poster report "Hydrogeological Consulting in the Mining industry: Field Investigations, Audit, Modelling, Risk Management" which detailed one of the activities of our company.
Mikhail Semenov, our senior hydrogeology consultant, presented the report on an important subject “Resolving hydrogeological problems using numerical groundwater modelling when ore deposits are mined by a combined method in difficult natural-technological conditions”.
