Took part in the conference “Hydrogeology: past, present and future” at MGRI
From March 4 to 6, 2024, SMT Consulting specialists took part in the first scientific and practical conference “Hydrogeology: past, present and future”, organized by the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Russian State Geological Prospecting University named after. Sergo Ordzhonikidze”(MGRI).
The conference included 6 sections: hydrogeodynamics, hydrogeochemistry of underground waters, modeling of hydrogeological processes, regional hydrogeology, environmental hydrogeology, training and employment of specialists.
The conference participants discussed in their reports the main problems of modern hydrogeology in Russia, including monitoring issues, the regulatory framework and legal aspects of hydrogeological research.
Along with the conference, an exhibition of hydrogeological equipment and software was organized on March 5, at which Roman Bondarenko (Head of the Department of Geomechanics and Hydrogeology of CMT Consulting), in the format of a poster presentation “Hydrogeological consulting in the mining industry: field work, audit, modeling, risk management,” presented to the audience in more detail one of the activities of our company.
Our senior consultant on hydrogeolgy, Mikhail Semenov, in his report touched upon such an important topic as “Solving hydrogeological problems using the method of numerical geofiltration modeling when mining ore deposits using a combined method in complex natural and man-made conditions.”
