Took part in the IX international scientific and practical conference “Innovative directions in the design of mining enterprises”

At the end of May 2024, CMT specialists Alexander Makarov (chief consultant on geomechanics) and Sergey Gashko (senior consultant on structural geology and geomechanics) took part in the IX international scientific and practical conference “Innovative directions in the design of mining enterprises”, which was organized by the St. Petersburg Mining University. Empress Catherine II.

The goals of the conference were to improve approaches to the design of mining enterprises and improve the educational process in training specialists in the field of geomechanics, mining and subsoil use. In addition, during the conference, specialists from different companies could exchange their experiences and establish scientific and technical connections.

At the section “Geomechanical support and risks in open-pit mining of mineral deposits,” Alexander Makarov and Vadim Demishkan (junior technical specialist in geomechanics) made a report on the topic “Reverse calculations in geomechanics,” which highlighted the experience of CMT specialists in analyzing the deformations that have occurred using various methods.
