CMT Consulting specialists conducted training at the UMMC Technical University in Verkhnyaya Pyshma

As part of the service “Training and Education” Roman Bondarenko (manager, head of geomechanics and hydrogeology) and Mikhail Semenov (senior consultant in hydrogeology) conducted full-time training in the advanced training program “Hydrogeological support of mining operations. Advanced course”at the UMMC Technical University in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. The course is intended for specialists in the department of geomechanics and hydrogeology of mining enterprises and management companies. 18 people from 10 different companies that are part of the UMMC Holding took part in the training.

The training program (24 academic hours) included the study of a wide range of topics, such as an overview of the basic methods of hydrogeological research and equipment used, and approaches to organizing monitoring. A separate block was devoted to numerical hydrogeological modeling as the main tool for forecast calculations; Modflow Classic and Ansdimat software reviewed. The main drying methods used in the mining industry are presented.

The key topic of the training was SMT’s experience in calculating groundwater levels using Slide2. Finally, a training was conducted on the topic of hydrogeological risk assessment.
During the training, many practical cases were considered, which caused a positive assessment from the audience.

In 2026, it is planned to organize training on the topic: “Numerical modeling in Visual Modflow Classic. Basic course.”
