Conducted an analysis of the stability of workings at the Talatui field

In the period from November 2023 to February 2024, SMT specialists conducted an analysis of the stability of workings at the Talatui field.

The Talatui deposit is located in the Chita region near the village of Vershino-Darasunsky. In 2022, Highland Gold began its active development after a long period of mothballing. One of the features of the deposit is that open-pit mining is carried out in the locations of mothballed underground workings.

The main objective of the project is to quickly collect information about the fracturing of the massif, the properties of fractures and develop databases for subsequent geomechanical work.

The field has two quarries located a short distance from each other. To optimize the work, CMT specialists were divided into objects and types of work. In just a few days, it was possible to conduct a detailed survey from a quadcopter of both quarries, obtain several dozen mapping stations for office work, and carry out manual mapping of the massif with a description of the properties of the cracks.

Upon completion of the desk work, all initial data was transferred to the mine specialists, including developed databases, 3D models of quarries, mapping stations, and recommendations were provided for further geomechanical study of the site.
