Conducted an audit of numerical models for the Gorevskoye lead-zinc deposit

As part of the services in the field of “Geomechanics and Hydrogeology,” SMT specialists conducted a detailed audit of numerical models developed by a third-party organization for the Gorevskoye lead-zinc deposit.

During the audit, the basic principles and approaches to the development of lithological-structural, block geomechanical and hydrogeological models using specialized software (Micromine, Visual Modflow Flex, Rocscience) were analyzed.

SMT specialists reviewed the work performed both from the point of view of the requirements of the Technical Specifications and from the point of view of generally accepted world practice in the development of numerical models for deposits mined by open pit mining in difficult mining conditions.

During the audit, SMT specialists identified and substantiated a wide range of comments. Our company provided methodological support in the process of eliminating identified deficiencies in order to update and clarify numerical models.

Based on updated numerical models, forecast calculations of water inflows and calculations of the stability of the pit sides were adjusted.
